The African Committee of Experts on Rights of the Child (ACERWC/the Committee) joins the global community in marking International Women’s Day 2026, under the theme, ‘Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls’.

On the occasion of the International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers, on behalf of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, the Special Rapporteur on Children in Conflict Situations expresses grave concern over the persistence of armed conflicts and situations of insecurity across parts of Africa and their disproportionate impact on children.
